Three things decide how much you weigh:

Think of it this way - the food that you eat provides you with energy (calories). Your metabolism uses calories all the time by pumping blood around your body, digesting food, maintaining all of your muscles, etc. You then get through more calories when you do something energetic like walking, climbing the stairs, anything.

Put simply, if you use more calories than you consume, your body will get the extra energy it needs by raiding its fat stores, and you will lose weight.

If you consume more calories than you use, your body will store the extra in the form of fat. You will put on weight.

The best way to lose weight is to control all three things - what you eat, your resting metabolic rate, and how much exercise you do.

The best weight loss exercise program means changing:

To make the maximum impact on your waistline you will also need to think about what you eat.
