If you’ve been trying to get rid of belly fat for some time, you probably think that it’s virtually impossible. You may have tried doing hundreds of sit-ups, or starving yourself, and nothing worked. And there are good reasons why not.
- It doesn’t matter how much you exercise your abdominal muscles, no one will ever see them unless you get rid of the layer of fat over them.
- Exercising your abs does not burn off fat from your belly. Any fat which does come off will be from the part of your body which it decides is right. There is nothing you can do to change this.
- Reducing your calorie intake doesn't necessarily help you burn that fat. It may just slow down your metabolic rate so your body doesn’t need so many calories to survive each day.
So what can you do?
You need a total body approach that will:
- Boost your metabolism, so you burn more calories all day, not just when you are exercising.
- Burn more calories through carefully chosen cardiovascular exercise.
- Gain control of you diet so you get enough of the right foods, cut back on the bad ones, and maintain the essential balances which will prevent your body from entering “starvation mode”.
